Compulsive Spelunkers Anonymous (27 Patchwall 586 OY, 9/20/99 RL) The 4 skeletons were defeated after a furious battle. In the room they came from was a skull full of gold coins. Continuing on, they found a room with a 5' ledge surrounding a 20' deep pit. A rickety staircase went down from the ledge into the pit. Fingle glided down the floor. As he approached a tunnel in the opposite side of the pit, skeletons rose up from their hiding places amoungst rubble piled on the ledge. The skeletons threw rocks down at Fingle as he fled back to the party. Camen followed the ledge to fight them. Illuminated by Camen's torch, Fingle detonated some skeletons, while Camen defeated them and was not dragged off the ledge.

They lowered their rope ladder and entered the pit. As Camen led the way down the tunnel, he saw a flash of mystical symbols and managed to duck back, avoiding some kind of magical ward. Passing through a rough, natural cave into another tunnel, he was not so lucky with the next ward, suffering a severe electrical shock. The tunnel opened into a large cave. While looking around, they were approached by a similarly accoutered human. He claimed to have been placed in suspended animation while exploring the cave, and only just re-awakened. He asked the party's help for his friends and in opening a large chest. But the party balked, so he left, but the party was growing suspicious. Axel pursued in wraith-form, and as the guy moved into darkness Axel saw him glance back over a shoulder revealing a bestial, grey-skinned face.

They made their way into the caves the guy had passed through. They found a wall of loose stones piled near the top of high roofed cavern above a tunnel opening. They threw rocks at the wall until it collapsed, completely blocking the tunnel.

Jos led the way into another tunnel, and was attacked by grey-skinned creatures waiting in ambush where the tunnel opened into a large cavern. As their claws raked his bare skin, he felt control over his muscles ebb away and he was paralyzed. The party pulled him back and beat a hasty retreat while Fingle detonated a rock in the cavern. As they went back the way they came, they were sniped at by an unseen sling wielder. In the pit they climbed up the rope ladder, pulled it up, and set fire to the staircase. While leaving, they were ambushed by more skeletons, but eventually defeated them.

Outside, they spent the backside-daytime (topside-nightime to their circadian rythyms) resting and fishing. Camen only managed to hook a couple of small fish, but they were stolen by a large cat.
